Principal Scientist, Translational Immunology

KSQ Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Principal Scientist to join the Translational Immunology group. This individual will be responsible for managing translational in vitro immunology/pharmacology activities to support drug discovery programs across KSQ's portfolio, including engineered Tumor Infiltrating Lymphocytes (eTIL™), large molecule (antibody), and small molecule programs.


  • Collaborate cross-functionally to transition eTIL™ Drug Candidates from discovery to development, including refining the engineering processes and defining the characterization methods needed for internal technology transfer for clinical manufacturing process development
  • Optimize in vitro immunology/pharmacology assays necessary to characterize & confirm the biological impact of engineering KSQ's proprietary targets in TILs
  • Identify the initial Quality Target Product Profile (QTPP) and Critical Quality Attributes (CQA) and for KSQ's eTIL™ drug products
  • Contribute to all therapeutic modalities in KSQ's portfolio of eTIL™, large and small molecule programs to support IND filings


Key Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Immunology or a related discipline, with a postdoc and 5-6 years industry experience. Alternatively, BS/MS candidates with 15+ years immunology industry experience will be considered. Expert in T cell biology
  • Hands-on immuno-oncology experience including the design, execution and analysis of functional assays using primary immune cells, especially working with human TILs
  • Industry experience leading or contributing to drug discovery programs with a strong preference for cell therapy experience
  • Experience using CRISPR-based genome-editing techniques to engineer cells
  • A strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for participating across functional groups and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality
