Senior Accounting Manager, External Reporting

Description

The Senior Manager, External Reporting and Technical Accounting is a key member of the Finance team, working across the organization to support a dynamic and growing Company. This position will partner with finance and non-finance stakeholders on financial closing and reporting, manage strategic and complex areas of accounting, and lead highly visible and critical activities within the organization.

Requirements

  • Prepare quarterly reporting for private equity investors
  • Prepare Statement of Cash Flows and Statement of Stockholders’ Equity
  • Prepare financial statements and disclosures on Form S-1
  • Prepare quarterly and annual external financial reporting, including Forms 10Qs ,10Ks and 8Ks
  • Prepare tie-out binders for SEC filings and Press Releases
  • Maintain current list of contract obligations and create accounting summaries for new agreements.
  • Analyze non-recurring transactions by properly identifying accounting implications, applying appropriate accounting rules and literature, exercising judgement, and document conclusions in a clear and concise manner
  • Lead or assist in the implementation of new accounting standards and processes, including adoption of ASC 842
  • Assist in accounting policy drafting and implementation
  • Assist in technical accounting research, staying informed about new accounting principles, SEC reporting and general trends within the Life Sciences industry
  • Manage the accounting for Shareholders’ Equity and Equity Based Compensation ensuring proper expense recognition, presentation and disclosure
  • Assist in the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance implementation efforts, with an initial focus on controls applicable to the external reporting process

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree required, Masters Degree preferred in finance/accounting
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in public accounting, top-tier firms preferred
  • CPA required
  • Exposure to complex accounting issues and technical accounting research experience
  • SEC reporting experience
  • Exposure to Life Sciences/Biotech/Pharma preferred
