Research Laboratory Manager

KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Lab Manager position in Cambridge, MA. Founded by pre-eminent scientific leaders, KSQ Therapeutics is a drug discovery company employing cutting-edge functional genomics technology to identify novel pathways and targets involved in oncology and immuno-oncology. Position summary

KSQ Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated Lab Manager to help facilitate all daily lab operations. This position will involve maintaining lab consumables inventory, equipment maintenance, communicating with vendors, safety training, and scientist support. A successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, highly confident decision making ability, and embrace the highly dynamic environment of a fast-growing, successful biotech.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the stocking and inventory of lab consumables
  • Implement an inventory management system
  • Direct daily shipping/receiving operations
  • Interface with accounts payable
  • Ensure tissue culture and general lab functionality by restocking and organizing supplies as well as maintaining an equipment cleaning schedule
  • Implement and manage a LIMS-based sample cryostorage strategy
  • Assure optimal performance and maintenance of all laboratory instrumentation
  • Manage chemical inventory
  • Manage Hazmat/Biohazard waste disposal
  • Assist internal and external audits and safety inspections
  • Assist and eventually lead safety trainings
  • Maintain lab equipment in working order by negotiating and managing service contracts as well as tracking and scheduling routine periodic maintenance


Requirements

Key Qualifications

  • Biotech/industry experience required, 2-5+ years
  • Experience with tissue culture and aseptic techniques is a must
  • Working knowledge of a variety of lab equipment
  • Prior knowledge of lab safety regulations and safety training
  • Excellent organizational, verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills to work within a project team setting, and across functional areas
  • Ability to independently solve problems, to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced biotech
  • Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality is a must
  • Outstanding customer service skills, with strong follow up on all issues through execution to achieve successful results
  • Proficient with computer based data management and Microsoft Office are needed. Knowledge of LIMS and LabCloud systems a plus
  • Strong multi-tasking and sound time management skills
  • High attention to detail, including a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously, as well as the ability to think strategically and execute methodically
