KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Associate Principal Scientist / Principal Scientist: Biochemistry / Enzymology position in Cambridge, MA. KSQ Therapeutics has built an industry-leading genome-scale precision functional genomics platform, called CRISPRomics, to pinpoint therapeutic nodes that directly correlate genomic function to disease with unprecedented certainty and speed. The company is deploying CRISPRomics for novel drug development across broad therapeutic areas and is advancing a proprietary pipeline of tumor- and immune-focused drug candidates for oncology. Position summary

KSQ Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional, innovative and highly motivated Associate Principal Scientist / Principal Scientist: Biochemistry / Enzymology to apply fundamental biochemical, & enzymology principles toward the lead discovery for targets identified from our proprietary platform. The successful candidate will influence the company’s emerging NCE drug design organization and contribute to building a strong portfolio of novel drug candidates. As part of the team of scientists at KSQ Therapeutics, this individual will have responsibility for further deploying KSQ’s cutting-edge drug discovery infrastructure through assay development, screening, validation and characterization of drug candidates either internally or in collaboration with CRO partners. As part of a lead generation and progression team, this individual will impact hit finding campaigns, validation decisions and lead optimization strategies to deliver drug candidates that benefit patients’ lives. The successful individual will join a dynamic, enthusiastic, interdisciplinary, and collaborative team of scientists.


  • Generating and vetting critical data either internally or in collaboration with CRO partners consistent with the drug discovery team’s priorities and objectives to build a strong portfolio of drug candidates
  • Function within the biochemistry team to seamlessly oversee biochemical assays design, development, validation and compound screening either internally or with CRO collaborators
  • Contribute scientifically and technically within the portfolio of drug discovery programs
  • Must be able to travel occasionally, including internationally, to develop and foster collaborations with CRO partners is an asset
  • Deliver scientific reports and presentations internally or externally as needed
  • Participate in various aspects of this fast-pace company, from building out the capabilities, contributing intellectually and to generating data in a fast and efficient manner.


  • PhD in biochemistry or enzymology with 3 -7 years of experience with a focus on small molecule drug discovery or BS/MS with 10+ years of comparable work-relevant experience in the field of small molecule drug discovery.
  • Ability to independently solve problems, to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team.
  • Function in a scientific expert role as part of an interdisciplinary team contributing to the execution of experiments in support of our research activities and project goals.
  • Substantial experience interfacing with CRO partners and proven ability to work efficiently in a hybrid model is essential
  • Demonstrated expertise and a track record of success of impacting discovery programs from target validation trough lead optimization
  • Demonstrated involvement in a wide range of biological target classes
  • Strong ability to communicate scientific concepts and complex data in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work within a project team setting and across functions.
  • Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality is a must.
