Position Summary

KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an exceptional, innovative and highly motivated Senior Scientist to apply functional genomics towards the identification and characterization of novel drug targets for therapeutic intervention, with a particular expertise in molecular genetics and gene editing. This individual will contribute to the development of model systems and technologies that enable querying disease pathways across multiple therapeutic areas.  The individual will further our understanding of how biological pathways can be modulated for the benefit of patients, and the new team member will join a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly interdisciplinary, and collaborative team.

Key Qualifications

  • PhD with a postdoctoral fellowship in genetics, molecular biology, or related fields
  • Technical expertise in gene editing, functional genomics, and strategies for generation of genetically manipulated cell lines (via gene editing, knock-in, or transgene expression)
  • 0-3 years of experience in an industrial setting
  • Proficiency in a wide range of molecular biology and cell culture laboratory techniques
  • A track record of communicating scientific concepts and strategies effectively, including a publication record in top-tier, peer reviewed journals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work across functions, and within academic and industry collaborations
  • Experience in collaborating across teams and/or managing junior scientists
  • Ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team.
  • Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Implementation and oversight of a research strategy to develop CRISPR functional genomics systems for target discovery applications
  • Ability to supervise research associates in a matrix-based organization
  • Manage external industrial and academic collaborations
  • Develop and deliver scientific presentations and reports, including publication in top-tier journals
  • Function as part of an interdisciplinary team contributing to the design and execution of experiments in support our research activities and project goals
  • Participate in various aspects of this new company from building out the capabilities to generating and analyzing data in a fast and efficient manner
