KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Principal Scientist, Autoimmunity position in Cambridge, MA. KSQ Therapeutics has built an industry-leading genome-scale precision functional genomics platform, called CRISPRomics, to pinpoint therapeutic nodes that directly correlate genomic function to disease with unprecedented certainty and speed. The company is deploying CRISPRomics for novel drug development across broad therapeutic areas and is advancing a proprietary pipeline of tumor- and immune-focused drug candidates for oncology. KSQ was founded by thought leaders in the field of functional genomics and pioneers of CRISPR screening technologies. The company is located in Kendall Square in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Position Summary

KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. is seeking an exceptional and highly motivated Principal Scientist, Autoimmunity to drive the application of functional genomics towards the identification and characterization of novel drug targets for therapeutic intervention in inflammatory and autoimmune disease. This individual will coordinate the development of in vitro and in vivo model systems that enable querying immune-related disease pathways using CRISPR/Cas9 functional genomic screens, and will drive drug discovery efforts.  The new team member will join a dynamic, enthusiastic, highly interdisciplinary, and collaborative team.

Key Qualifications

  • PhD in immunology or related discipline with postdoctoral fellowship
  • A strong publication record in top-tier, peer-reviewed journals in the areas of inflammation, autoimmunity, and/or drug discovery
  • 5+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical setting
  • Experience participating on and leading pre-clinical small and/or large molecule drug discovery projects to the clinic
  • Experience managing CROs
  • Expertise in standard immunological laboratory techniques required
  • Experience in CRISPR/Cas9 editing and performing functional genomics screens in lymphocytes desired
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills for participating across functional groups and externally
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team
  • Demonstrated commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and technical leadership across immunology pre-clinical target discovery and validation, drug projects and initiatives
  • Interface and manage internal functional groups and external CRO collaborators
  • Extend internal immunology capabilities through external industrial and academic collaborations
  • Develop and deliver scientific presentations and reports in a fast and efficient manner
  • Participate in various aspects of small company capability building

Compensation
