KSQ Therapeutics, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Associate Principal Scientist / Principal Scientist, Biochemistry / Biophysics position in Cambridge, MA. KSQ Therapeutics has built an industry-leading genome-scale precision functional genomics platform, called CRISPRomics, to pinpoint therapeutic nodes that directly correlate genomic function to disease with unprecedented certainty and speed. The company is deploying CRISPRomics for novel drug development across broad therapeutic areas and is advancing a proprietary pipeline of tumor- and immune-focused drug candidates for oncology. Position Summary

KSQ Therapeutics is seeking an exceptional, innovative and highly motivated Associate Principal Scientist / Principal Scientist: Biochemistry / Biophysics to apply fundamental biophysical, biochemical, & enzymology principles toward the characterization of targets identified from our proprietary platform. The successful candidate will influence the company’s emerging NCE drug design organization and contribute to building a strong portfolio of novel drug candidates. As part of the team of scientists at KSQ Therapeutics, this individual will have responsibility for further deploying KSQ’s cutting-edge biophysical infrastructure, biophysical assay development, validation and characterization of drug candidates either internally or in collaboration with CRO partners. As part of a lead generation and progression team, this individual will impact hit validation decisions and lead optimization strategies to deliver drug candidates that benefit patients’ lives. The successful individual will join a dynamic, enthusiastic, interdisciplinary, and collaborative team of scientists.

Key Qualifications

  • PhD in biochemistry or enzymology with 3+ years of experience with a focus on small molecule drug discovery or BS/MS with 8+ years of comparable work-relevant experience in the field of small molecule. Experience in the field of large molecules would be an asset, though not required.
  • Ability to independently solve problems, to think critically and creatively as part of a fast-paced research team.
  • Demonstrated involvement in a variety of biological target
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to work within a project team setting.
  • Commitment to quality, attention to detail, and team player mentality is a must.
  • Strong ability to communicate scientific concepts and complex data in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to impact drug discovery programs at various stages of advancement
  • Knowledge and experience with various biophysical screening techniques such as SPR and NMR
  • Understanding and knowledge of protein chemistry and structural biology is beneficial


  • Perform lab work as a priority to meet program goals and timelines as well as departmental objectives
  • Implement and seamlessly oversee biophysical assays design, development, validation, data interpretation and compound screening either internally or with CRO collaborators
  • Contribute scientifically and technically within drug discovery team
  • Deliver scientific reports and presentations internally as needed
  • Participate in various aspects of this new fast-pace company from building out the capabilities, contributing intellectually and to generating data in a fast and efficient manner.
  • Function in a scientific expert role as part of an interdisciplinary team contributing to the execution of experiments in support of our research activities and project goals.
